Then there is no better time to invest in one of Jeep Adventure Training Centre's range of 4x4 training courses, ranging from beginner to advanced to specialised training. Jeep Club Western Cape's very own manager Craig Parsons offeres these courses in association with 4x4 Offroad Academy TETA 10-113, based on the NOW program's curriculum and working hand in hand with accredited training providers, to reflect their quality standards.

Craig Parsons, manager of the Jeep Club Western Cape, active Committee Member with 4x4Cape and member of the 4x4 Community, believes these training courses to be essential to all 4x4 owners, as it not only enables one to build up more confidence in off-roading situations, but by also ensuring you have the necessary experience in any circumstance to be a safe and responsible off-roader, with an understanding on the importance of preserving our natural environment.

Jeep Adventure TrainingJeep Adventure Training Centre's training courses are taught in either group, or one-on-one format, and weekend training getaways at loacal Cape Town venues are also a popular choice for the whole family. Training sessions provide a great opportunity for corporate teambuilding, corporate employee accreditation, father-son / mother-daugther events, or as a special gift for a loved one.

4x4 Training courses focus on theoretical, as well as practical applications, where one not only learns interesting, but also highly essential information on how to correctly operate a 4x4 vehicle and learn unique driving skills. After the theoretical section of the 4x4 training one has the oportunity to build up practical experience in off-road circumstances - all under the guidance of a qualified training instructor.

Before each course, please take note of the following:

  • That your vehicle's fuel, oil, brake and power steering-levels are checked.
  • Take a rain jacket and boots during winter season.
  • Remember to bring insect repellent.
  • Remove your vehicle's side steps to avoid damage.
  • Bring along sunscreen and hat/cap for sensitive skin.
  • Bring your camera.
  • Bring along any special food.
  • Bring along drinking water.
  • Payments must be finalised in advance - week before scheduled training.
  • Bring your recovery kit.

Jeep Adventure Introductory 4x4 Training - New Jeep Owner - New or Used

For a two hour Introductory 4x4 session held at Jeep Adventure Track - Century City contact Craig Parsons to book your slot.

In the session we cover:

  •  How to prep your car for going off road,
  •  How to read a 4x4 course
  •  Recovery equipment required
  •  How to select the various gears and when
  •  Actually driving the course in your Jeep through various obstacles.

Our most popular course takes places on Wednesday Afternoons from 3.00pm - 5.00pm and Saturday Mornings from 10.00am - 12.00pm and is the ideal opportunity to get to know your 4x4 vehicle. Many of our clients use this opportunity for corporate teambuilding functions, dad-and-son excursions or even as birthday presents.

 

    
Basic 4x4 Training

Basic 4x4 Traning

In this session we cover:

  • The range of features, vehicle options and capabilities of a 4WD
  •  An understanding of the preparation of a vehicle for off-road conditions
  •  A basic understanding of the various chassis and suspension configurations
  •  A basic understanding of a drive train
  • Operating a 4WD vehicle in off-road conditions

It is assumed that the learner attending this training will be in possession of a Code B or EB Drivers Licence. The leaner will apply the basic concepts of 4WD. This training will enable the learner to practically demonstrate the basic knowledge and skills required to handle a 4WD, on-road and off-road, perform vehicle preparation, understand preventative maintenance and handle basic recovery situations and equipment, in an environmentally considerate manner.

Training is held on Saturdays at the Jeep Adventure Track starts at 9.00am and finishes 4.30pm consisting of theory and practical, with a written test done including a portfolio of evidence the weekend after.

Advanced 4x4 Training

Advanced 4x4 Training

 In this session we cover: 

  • The differences in driving 4WD on-road and off-road
  • Basic knowledge of passenger and vehicle safety precautions
  • The features of a 4WD vehicle for off-road conditions
  • The understanding of off-road conditions and their relation to vehicle preparation and behaviour
  • Basic recovery techniques
  • Driving techniques typical to specific obstacles that are nature and terrain dependent

 Costs per session:

Group Session: Driver and vehicle R1 800.00p/p  Ex Vat
       
Indiviual Session: Driver and vehicle R3 500.00p/p  Ex Vat
